Later half dark blue morocco, red and black patterned cloth boards, spines divided by raised bands between double gilt rules, second and fourth compartments gilt-lettered direct, the others with central diamond-shaped gilt tools, marbled edges and endpapers. A few tiny areas of rubbing, particularly to joints. Ownership inscription of Ruth H. Munro Scott dated 1943 to endpapers, along with a gift inscription to Rosalie in the same hand dated 1944 in vol. 1.
