Description

FIRST EDITION, 8vo, pp. 61, [1]. Original grey paper wrappers, front wrapper printed in black, pink belly band printed in black. A touch of foxing. Oversized edges of wrappers somewhat bumped and nicked, belly band a little creased, a little torn to folds.

Notes

A scarce, early collection of stories by Howard Kent (1919-2005), who was also the man behind its publisher, New Vision Publications, which would go on to publish Vera Brittain's book about mass bombing, Seeds of Chaos, in 1944. Kent later went in to work on the film Lawrence of Arabia and devoted the last few decades of his life to popularising yoga in the west. Library Hub records just three copies: at BL, TCD and Oxford.
This copy retains a fragile promotional belly band, advertising its introduction by the more-famous Brittain, and its price (one shilling and sixpence).
