FIRST EDITION, 8vo, pp. 190, [2]. Original panelled cloth in red, black, and polka-dot blue, colour-printed dustjacket, red and blue endpapers. Dustjacket chipped with some short tears to edges, somewhat spotted and marked, binding just a touch faded.
The first edition of this fantastical romp through Edinburgh by writer and editor St. Clair McKelway (1905-1980). A shorter version of this text was first printed in The New Yorker, where McKelway had been working since 1933. Victor Gollancz published the first British edition in 1963.
