16mo, pp. xii, 323, [1] + frontispiece and engraved title-page printed on green paper and 12 further plates. Contemporary half calf, green marbled boards, spine divided by raised bands gilt, black morocco label, other compartments tooled elaborately in gilt, edges sprinkled red. A touch toned. Rubbed to edges, joints starting. Ownership inscription of J.F. Haskell to flyleaf.

Notes

A pocket edition, with tiny type, reproducing in a remarkably small space the full text of the four-volume collected works of Burns first published by M'Creery in Liverpool in 1800 plus additional secondary material. This 'Diamond' edition went through several editions of its own, and was first printed in 1833.
