FIRST BRITISH EDITION, 8vo, pp. 172. Original black boards, spine lettered in silver, dustjacket printed in yellow, black and red. A little spotting to endpapers and dustjacket flaps, rear panel a bit soiled with a closed 3cm tear at foot, a couple of smaller tears elsewhere.

Notes

The first British appearance of this early novel by the Strugatsky brothers, first published in Russian in 1965; it depicts a future society where pursuit of thrills and pleasure have won over all other activities, including a mysterious product, 'slug', that causes addiction and death.
