Notes

The debut novel by Kenyan writer Lydiah Mumbi Nguya, set in pre-colonial Kenya, about a man who defies societal norms and faces opposition from his entire village. it was first published in 1975 by the East African Literature Bureau; this reprint is from that company's state-backed successor. It has an introduction by Taban Lo Liyong and a glossary to the rear.
