FIRST EDITIONS, 8vo, pp. [iv], 231, [1]; 190; 217, [1]. Original coloured boards (grey, green, red), spines lettered in gilt, colour-printed dustjackets. Just a touch of spotting. Dustjackets lightly soiled, some small nicks to edges. Ink ownership inscription to flyleaf of Grace and Mrs Partridge.

Notes

An attractive set of Friel's three Glasgow-set novels, which were republished in one volume by Canongate in 1999.
The second book, Grace And Miss Partridge, was initially rejected by publisher Marion Boyars in 1965, only for her to ask for it again two years later, as 'she had found it unforgettable' (ODNB).
