An attractively-bound collection of essays by the writer and colonial administrator Henry Lushington (1812-1855), the first third of which is occupied by a memoir by his friend and collaborator George Stovin Venables. The 'Italian Poet' mentioned in the title is Giuseppe Giusti (1809-1850).
