Description

12mo, pp. 168, vi, [14] Original card covers printed in black and red and backed in red cloth. Some openings soiled, offsetting from inserted newspaper clippings. Binding soiled and a little marked, stitching strained in places, rear hinge split but joint holding, Ownership signature of Catherine H. Grierson to flyleaf above pasted-in newspaper recipe clipping, further clipping tipped in to p. 110

Notes

A scarce benefit cookbook playing on the Trossachs connection to Scott, whose 'Lady of the Lake' was set on Loch Katrine; less than a decade earlier the SS Walter Scott steamship was launched for the tourist trade there. Few copies survive in any condition: Library Hub locates copies at the NLS and University of Edinburgh only, and Worldcat adds no more.
