Graham's 5th collection, written after his move to Cornwall and containing the long poem that gives the collection its title, recounting his experiences trawling off Mevagissey. Out of vogue on publication despite the praise of T.S. Eliot, this collection has been critically re-evaluated: reviewing a new Selected Poems in the LRB in 2019, Seamus Perry wrote that ''The Nightfishing' is one of those rare poems that consciously sets out to be a masterpiece and pulls it off.'
