Notes
The second printing of this collection of short stories, first published in 1912 and scarce in any early edition. The stories mainly deal with the supernatural, weird, and uncanny; the title story is a classic of horror and 'The Man who Went too Far' an important entry in the representations of Pan and paganism in literature.
