Notes

The first edition of the memoirs of antique dealer, British diplomat and friend of Russian Prince Felix Yusipov, Albert Stopford. Through his connections with the Romanovs and his diplomatic status he was granted unusual access to the Russian Imperial family and freedom of movement within the country, which he used to smuggle out the jewellery collection of Grand Duchess Vladimir in two Gladstone bags.
The memoir also contains an account of the assassination of Rasputin, and details of the daily life of the court of Nicholas and Alexandra.
