Notes

The scarce sole separate printing (sold to benefit an unnamed individual) of a pair of late contributions on the electoral consequences of the entailment and division of Scottish estates by Edward Thurlow, 1st Baron Thurlow (1731-1806), who served as Lord High Chancellor to four different prime ministers. Thurlow addresses questions of the transfer of voting rights and obligations with property from various angles, the first speech concluding a case between the Hon. William Elphinstone and John Campbell and Archibald Tod, and the second the case of Sir William Forbes, Baronet and others vs Sir John MacPherson, Baronet. This copy belonged to the main appellant in the second case, Sir William Forbes, Baronet, though without mark of ownership.
ESTC locates copies in only one UK institution, the NLS, alongside Yale, Kansas, NYPL, and Baylor in the USA.
