Sometime neatly rebacked preserving earlier spine, label lost, hinges relined with cloth tape, a little rubbed, some creasing to spine. Some pencil notes to glossary at rear.
The first Aberdeen printing of this popular and important anthology, initially published in four volumes across the 1720s and 30s, with the first parts seeing ten editions in as many years before the fourth was produced. Later printings like this are nominally in four volumes, but have no separate title-pages and pagination is continuous. They are mostly scarce, with this 'fifteenth edition' recorded in three locations only, BL, NLS and Yale, in ESTC; it also escaped the notice in the bibliography compiled by Burns Martin.
