The scarce fifth book of William Henry Oliphant Smeaton (1856-1914), a Scottish writer and journalist who spent some years in New Zealand and Australia. Smeaton was known for his adventure stories earlier in his career and literary biographies later on. Library Hub and WorldCat cite only four copies in the UK, in the NLS, BL, Cambridge, and Oxford, with a further eight copies in Australian institutions.
