Notes

A later issue of the second edition of Thomas Green's Universal Herbal, initially published in 1816, the second following from 1824. The plates have their own imprints and dates across a range of years: in this copy they stretch from 1816 through 1832, with the majority of the plates dating to 1823 and 1828. Copies also vary in their complement of plates, with this example bound without three of the plates called for in the plate list, but with a duplicate of an early plate from volume one bound at the very end of volume two - this duplicate present in hand-coloured form while the rest of the plates are uncoloured.
