Notes

A typically rare printing of this perennial clandestine bestseller of reproductive health. ESTC locates only two copies in the UK at the BL and Glasgow University Library, with further copies in Poland and the US. Besides the usual woodcuts of 'monstrous births' within the text, this copy has an engraved folding frontispiece featuring 'the form of a child in the womb, disrob'd of its tunicles, proper and common'.
