Notes

The first edition of this humorous anthology by the author of The Boy's Own Book, with illustrations by George Cruikshank, which saw irregular reprints through the 19th century. Some of the stories have a light dusting of the supernatural about them, like The Witch's Switch, or Me and My Ghost-Ship, although the focus remains on humour.
