A scarce devotional work for children, printed for Edinburgh English teacher Alexander Barrie, whose 'Collection of English Prose and Verse, for The use of Schools, Selected From Different Authors' had reached its 14th edition by 1800. Barrie published his own works and also appears as a seller in the imprint of a few other educational and devotional works printed by various Edinburgh firms, like this one. All of these are scarce, with this edition being recorded in 4 locations in ESTC: Edinburgh, Bodleian, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and Starr King School for the Ministry; a variant issue with an additional bookseller's name in the imprint is NLS only.
