Numerous illustrations included within pagination. later half calf, brown cloth boards, spine divided by raised bands gilt between double blind rules, red morocco label, marbled edges. Spine lightly sunned, a little rubbed to extremities. Gift inscription to flyleaf to The Rev. Joseph Brown from the Committee of the Edinburgh Total Abstinence Society ‘as a small mark of their esteem, and in remembrance of the course of lectures delivered by him on this volume’ dated 12th April 1853.
