Single folio leaf, stab-holes to gutter. A little soiled and marked, slight creasing and short tears to edges. Substantial manuscript annotation to verso.

Notes

The petition of Alexander Denham, leaseholder, against Archibald Stewart, advocate. Stewart had terminated Denham's lease on grounds of misconduct by Denham's father Sir Robert, but after various claims and appeals it was found that Robert Denham had not in fact violated the lease and the terms under which it was ended were not in fact in the agreement in the first place. Denham seeks sequestration of the relevant estate so that his income can be restored. This copy bears an annotation by Alexander Carmichael, WS, addressed to Stewart's advocate, detailing when the petition will be submitted to the Lords.
