FIRST EDITION, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, 8vo, pp. viii, 39, [1]. Original blue boards, paper label to front board printed in black and green, orange dustjacket printed in black. Front joint just splitting at head, a touch of wear to bottom corners, dustjacket very lightly soiled, somewhat sunned to spine-panel. Signed by Cruickshank to title-page, ownership inscription of Hilda T. Skae to flyleaf dated 1934.

Notes

The first edition of Cruickshank's first book, a collection of Scots verse written when she was secretary of Scottish PEN and hosting salons for Scottish writers including Hugh MacDiarmid and Lewis Grassic Gibbon. Cruickshank has signed this copy boldly across the title-page.
