Description

12mo, pp. [xii], 347, [1, ads] + frontispiece and 5 woodcut plates. Contemporary marbled sheep, spine divided by gilt rules. A touch of spotting, endpapers foxed. Sometime neatly rebacked preserving earlier spine, hinges relined with tissue, some wear to extremities.

Notes

This juvenile history was published in 1802, while the first illustrated edition was the 1812 third; further editions followed through into the 1820s. All are now rather scarce, with this fourth edition recorded at BL only in Library Hub.
