Notes

An attractive copy of this memorial volume for mathematician and Marxist philosopher David Guest, edited by his mother. Guest was killed at the Battle of The Ebro in the Spanish Civil War in July 1938, having volunteered for the British International Brigade earlier the same year. It contains pieces by prominent British communists Harry Pollitt and Ivor Montagu, and reprints a selection of Guest's mathematical papers to the rear. A volume of his lecture notes on dialectical materialism was compiled and published later in 1939.
