Dustjacket lightly soiled, top edge creased and slightly worn, short tear to foot of rear fold. Inscribed on the flyleaf ‘Robert Bruce Lockhart / A.G. / 4th Nov 1954’.

A presentation copy of economist and poet Alexander Gray's (1882-1968) ballad translations from the Danish, inscribed to the diplomat, author, and secret agent Robert Hamilton Bruce Lockart (1887-1970), a week after publication.
