Ink stamps and shelfmarks of Postmuseum library to first few leaves, some cancelled, binder’s ticket of E. Schmitt, Brussells, and ‘Early Technology’ bookplate of Michael Bennett-Levy to pastedown, inscription of Directio de Télégraphes Bibliotheque to half-title.

Notes

The substantially expanded fourth edition of this overview of the electric telegraph and related subjects by watchmaker Louis Clément François Breguet (1804-1883), who developed with Alphonse Foy the electric telegraphy system used in France, which mimicked the Napoleonic optical telegraph system in its display.
