The 'Blue Moon Poem for Christmas 1931', per the final page, issued by radical bookseller and publisher Charles Lahr's short-lived Blue Moon Press, issued from The Progressive Bookshop in London. The text is four stanzas taken from MacDiarmid's 1926 poem 'A Drunk Man Looks at The Thistle', and the illustration to the first page is by Frederick Carter.
