Near contemporary red basket textured calf, spine divided by raised bands tooled in gilt between gilt rules, black morocco label lettered in gilt, other compartments decorated in gilt, boards bordered with blind roll and triple gilt rules, marbled edges and endpapers. Frontispiece and engraved title-page foxed. Binding a touch faded in places. Ink ownership inscription of R.C. W–, dated 1941, to front flyleaf.
