Notes

A rewritten and updated version of Lardner's 1855 book 'The Electric Telegraph Popularised', which was itself reworked from one of his popular science publications, the production of which Lardner is best-remembered for: His articles on telegraphy come from 'The Museum of Science and Art', which he also edited.
