ONE OF 50 COPIES, folio, pp. [ii], 24 + 16 binder’s blanks. Contemporary half roan, pebbled purple cloth boards, spine lettered direct in gilt, top edge gilt. A little spotting. Boards a little soiled, leather worn, some areas of loss to spine. Gift inscription to flyleaf: ‘To Mr Milne from David Davies. With sincere thanks for wonderful services rendered. 6th May 1957’, folded 1963 facsimile of Issue One of Edinburgh Evening News (1873) loosely inserted.

Notes

A limited-edition facsimile of the first issue of The Edinburgh Courant, dated 14th-19th February 1705, which is followed by a short history of Scottish newspapers in the early 18th century.
