FIRST EDITION, large 8vo, pp. viii, [ii], 168 + 1 plate. Title-page printed in red and black. Original purple cloth, boards bordered with a double black rule, printed paper label to spine. Lightly toned and spotted. Extremities bumped and a little rubbed, label chipped.

Notes

The rare privately-printed first edition of these translations of extracts from the Aberdeen Breviary and Arbuthnott Missal concerning the patron saint of Glasgow (also called St Mungo), by Professor of Ecclesiastical History at the University of Edinburgh, Rev William Stevenson (1805-1873). The text and appendix are on slightly different paper with different typography. A revised version was published in an edition of 200 copies posthumously in 1874.
