Binding somewhat soiled and marked, spine rather darkened. Cancelled stamp of United Presbyterian Library, Edinburgh to verso of title-page, their bookplate to pastedown.

Notes

Number 52 in the Family Library series, begun by publisher John Murray in 1829 and sold in 1834 to Thomas Tegg, who produced further volumes including this one. The work was first published in 2 volumes in 1833 and Tegg reprinted it at least once, with the BL holding an 1839 Tegg printing designated 'Third Edition' to the title-page. This 1837 printing is recorded in 7 locations by Library Hub.
