Original green cloth, front boards blocked in gilt, spines lettered in gilt, top edges gilt, clear glassine dustjackets. Some spotting to endpapers and first and last leaves. Notes

An attractive set of the definitive edition of Yeats' poetry, incorporating his final revisions before his death in January 1939. It was always envisioned as a lavish production, and the outbreak of war, with its attendant shortages of paper and other materials caused MacMillan to abandon the publication for the duration of hostilities. The project was revived in peacetime, now overseen by Yeats's widow, using the limitation sheets he had signed in 1938. The fragile jackets are particularly scarce.
