ONE OF 300 LARGE PAPER COPIES, 4to, pp. xii, 261, [1] + colour frontispiece and 14 mounted india-paper plates. Mostly unopened in original half vellum, green cloth boards, front board and spine lettered direct in gilt. Endpapers toned. Vellum a little grubby.

Notes

The large-paper issue of the first authorised book edition of these early essays originally published in Architectural Magazine in the 1830s, followed by a pirate American edition in 1873. Per Wise, there were 300 copies of this large-format edition printed on Arnold's unbleached handmade paper.
