12mo, pp. xii, 376. Modern quarter navy cloth, marble effect paper boards, printed paper label to spine. Some spotting and toning. Extremities a touch bumped. Armorial bookplate of Joseph Gillow loosely inserted.

Notes

A collection of tracts by the historian John Lingard (1771-1851), wading into the Catholic question principally in opposition to Shute Barrington, (1734-1826), Bishop of Durham. Initially published as individual pamphlets, this edition resets and repaginates the five works as an individual volume for the first time.
