An early and scarce printing of this Scots translation of an excerpt from Ovid by Robert Forbes. Little is known of him - he seems to have been born in Buchan but plied his trade as a hosier in London. Evidently an educated man who 'possessed a large fund of the humorous,' he also published another excerpt from Ovid and a few original pieces (Walker, The Bards of Bon-Accord 1375-1860, 1887).
